Breaking down the ivory tower - Episode 3

Organised by the ALBA Disability & Accessibility Working Group, this webinar series aims to bring down the ivory tower of ableism, one extraordinary neuroscientist at a time. In Episode 3, Donna Rose Addis (Rotman Research Institute, Baycrest, CA) will talk about how she combines neuroimaging, behavioural and neuropsychological methods to investigate how the human brain remembers past experiences and imagines future events.

Diversity & inclusion in neuroscience in Oceania, what can we do better?

Through testimonies from underrepresented communities (First Nations, LGBTQIA+, immigrants, etc.), we will discuss topics linked to diversity such as mental health, disabilities, parenthood, work-life balance, and gender equity. Despite numerous initiatives championing equity in neuroscience, the gender gap continues to endure. Women and individuals with gender identities beyond cisgender men are still significantly underrepresented in leadership roles. The webinar seeks to dissect the complex factors still contributing to this ongoing disparity at a global level.
