
PhD Coordination
The PhD coordination office is the central contact point for all current and prospective doctoral candidates at the MPIMG and in our doctoral programme International Max Planck Research School for Biology And Computation (IMPRS-BAC).
The PhD Coordination Office serves as the central contact point for both current and prospective doctoral candidates at the MPIMG and within our doctoral program, the International Max Planck Research School for Biology and Computation (IMPRS-BAC). The PhD Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the IMPRS-BAC and serves as the primary contact person for all doctoral matters at the MPIMG, including for IMPRS applicants, and provides guidance throughout the entire doctoral training process. Key responsibilities and activities include:
- Writing proposals for the IMPRS-BAC
- Managing funds allocated to the IMPRS-BAC
- Coordinating the annual recruitment of new IMPRS doctoral candidates
- Supporting doctoral candidates before and after their arrival with administrative procedures (e.g., visa and insurance matters, employment process, university registration), accommodation, integration, and assistance in case of conflicts or other issues
- Organizing and managing the IMPRS-BAC curriculum, including Welcome Week, workshops, summer schools, and colloquia
- Ensuring that doctoral candidates fulfill all requirements, including those set by thesis advisory committees and the curriculum
- Managing alumni*ae relations
- Networking with other graduate schools in Berlin and across Germany
