Research Group Assistants

Supporting Research Group Leaders and their teams

All labs are supported by Research Group Assistants who handle the following tasks:

  • Personnel matters:
    • Coordination of all contractual matters with the Human Resources department
    • Onboarding and offboarding of all lab members, including trainees, working students, PhD students, postdocs, lab leaders, and institute guests
  • Business trips:
    • Travel planning: Researching and booking travel arrangements; ensuring compliance with institute travel policies
    • Coordination: Communicating itineraries and updates to travelers, coordinating with vendors, and resolving travel issues
    • Expense reporting: Collecting, reviewing, and processing travel receipts in accordance with institute policies
  • Event organization:
    • Planning and coordination: Organizing seminars, small events, lab retreats, and institute retreats, including correspondence and agenda management
    • Budget and vendor management: Managing budgets, negotiating with vendors, and coordinating logistics
    • Logistics and execution: Overseeing venue bookings, travel arrangements, catering, and on-site setup
    • Communication and engagement: Serving as the contact for event inquiries, distributing communications, and gathering feedback
    • Post-event evaluation: Analyzing event success, compiling reports, and documenting best practices
