Third generation sequencing

Nanopore long read sequencing complements current short read sequencing technologies, as it enables the concomitant digitalization of DNA sequence, cytosine methylation marks and the analysis of genomic structural variation on a significantly larger scale. The nascent technology offers unprecedented opportunities for research in signal processing, statistical and deep learning, epigenetics and variability in non-coding DNA sequencing which cannot be sequenced with polymerase based methods.
