Main Focus

Which changes in animal genomes lead to the striking morphological variation within our phylum?

Trained as a Molecular Biologist with a focus on Genetics, I have been using computational approaches to study Evo-Devo since my graduate research. After graduating in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Bologna, in 2023 I completed my PhD in Genetics from Humboldt University and the Max Delbrück Center in Berlin. I focus on using the power of comparative multi-omics to investigate the evolutionary effects of regulatory regions of the animal genome, as well as the emergence of new cell types and adaptations.
