Transferable Skills Course: Peer Review Processes
This interactive, practice-oriented workshop provides all the relevant know-how needed to successfully navigate the peer-review process both as a submitting author and a reviewer.

Course contents:
• What is peer review and how it works
• Problems with peer review and recent attempts for improvement
• How to answer reviewers‘ comments
• How to write a good peer review


The theoretical foundation is developed through discussions, trainer input and examples, and implemented in practical sessions where participants read & evaluate a peer review as well as the authors‘ response and write their own peer review to a preprint article.

14:00 - 15:00 How to write a good peer review (input, discussions, examples)

15:30 - 16:00 Practical work 2: reading & evaluating peer review

16:30 - 17:00 Closing round: Q&A, homework, reflective freewriting
