PhD Coordination
The PhD coordination office is the central contact point for all current and prospective doctoral candidates at the MPIMG and in our doctoral programme International Max Planck Research School for Biology And Computation (IMPRS-BAC).
The PhD coordinator is in charge of the daily business of the IMPRS-BAC and is also the officer for doctoral matters at the MPIMG. The PhD coordinator is typically the first point of contact an applicant has with the IMPRS-BAC and accompanies doctoral candidates throughout their doctoral training. The main responsibilities and activities of the PhD coordinator include:
• the writing of proposals for the IMPRS-BAC
• the organisation of funds allocated to the IMPRS-BAC
• the organisation and coordination of the annual recruitment of new doctoral candidates
• assisting doctoral candidates before and after their start with administrative procedures (visa and insurance matters, employment procedure, registration at the University, ...), accommodation, integration, advising and helping in case of conflict and issues
• the organisation and administration of the curriculum
• ensuring that doctoral candidates carry out their duties regarding thesis advisory committees, fulfilment of curriculum requirements, ...
• alumni*ae work
• networking with other graduate schools in Berlin and Germany.
