An Amphioxus gene catalogue and the 2R hypothesis Panopoulou et al., 2003

The identified duplicated segments in the human genome (as described in Panopoulou et al., (2003) Genome Research 13(6a), 1056-1065.), remnants of a duplication event at the origin of vertebrates can be viewed between pairs of chromosomes. The analysis is based on the predicted genes included in the Ensembl build 4.28

View duplicated segments in the human genome

As the ENSEMBL protein ids that are included in the segments are different in the current version of ENSEMBL predicted proteins for the human genome, we make available through this pagethe option to retrieve the protein sequence using the ids mentioned in our paper and in the segment maps. This protein sequence can then be used in similarity searches versus the current ENSEMBL version to retrieve the current protein ids.
