The Seaurchin genome Database will be available
after scientific publication
The Sea Urchin Genome is sequenced by the Baylor college
of Medicine. Before using our Seaurchin genome Database please read the
conditions for use: Conditions
for use of Baylor College Sequences
The Baylor College webpage can be found here:
The
Sea Urchin Genome Project at the Baylor College of Medicine
Following the link Seaurchin Genome Database
you have the opportunity to search the Strongylocentrotus purpuratus sea
urchin genome sequence by keyword and retrieve blast search results and
the corresponding contig sequence. Blast searches were done locally
against nrprot using the assembly of the seaurchin genome as
of 14th April 2005, which were annotated using GO (click on the GO-tree
link). We have also blasted our EST contigs to the gene preditctions made
from the genome sequence and these results are searchable via the Seaurchin
EST database link. Following the link Blast your sequence you
can also blast your own sequence against the S.purpuratus MPI-ESTs (Sp-MPI-est)
and all S.purpuratus ESTs (Sp-ALL_ESTs_CAP3_Assembly_14_2_06) available
and the complete Genome sequence as of the assemblies 2005 and 2006.
Around 30.000 Gene models, representing about 20.000 genes have been
made using Genscan and GLEAN from the 2005 assembly (The sea urchin Genome
consortium, unpublished). You can blast against them by selecting the database
Spurp-all-genes2005-Nuc to do nucleotide searches and Spurp-all-genes2005-Prot
or Glean3 to do protein-protein searches. Note also the new EST databases
for the european sea urchin Paracentrotus lividus (Pliv*), see also http://goblet.molgen.mpg.de/cgi-bin/webapps/paracentrotus.cgi
